We are excited to share that this year’s Creative Sector Summit keynote speaker is Ngoc-Tran Vu.

Ngoc-Tran Vu (she/her) is a 1.5-generation Vietnamese multimedia artist, cultural organizer, and strategist whose practice centers art, storytelling, and community engagement as vital forms of civic infrastructure. Rooted in Dorchester’s Vietnamese refugee and immigrant communities, she leads 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial, a community-driven public art and memory initiative honoring Vietnamese refugee and diaspora experiences in Boston’s Little Saigon Cultural District.

Through bilingual storytelling, public art activations, and intergenerational dialogue, her work advances spatial justice by cultivating places where elders, youth, artists, veterans, families, and neighbors can gather, remember, heal, and shape a more inclusive and accessible present and future.

In these unpredictable times, Tran's practice reminds us that artists and cultural workers do more than create projects. We build trust, belonging, collective memory, and the public imagination needed alongside communities to be seen, acknowledged, protected, and valued.

We are looking forward to hearing her insights about how arts, culture, and creativity are essential civic infrastructure for these times.

The keynote address will be available for both in-person and livestream Summit audiences.
