Stop Trump’s Attack on the Arts and Humanities

Dear Massachusetts Congressional Delegation,

For 50 years, funding for National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) have supported small, medium, and large cultural institutions in Massachusetts to help develop and showcase new and innovative art forms and to bring vibrancy and creativity to our neighborhoods.

The NEA and the NEH represent the best of our democratic values - ensuring everyone, regardless of means, has access to the transformative power of the arts and culture.

As supporters of the arts, culture, and the humanities, we urge you to ensure this work continues by supporting no less than $150 million for both the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities in the FY18 budget, and $155 million in FY19.

These are crucial supports to the large arts organizations and allow state arts supports to be speread more locally. They also provide levels of support that are not available more locally. To have Great Arts, national support from the government is needed.
