Important statewide elections are coming up this year, and it’s crucial that our voices in the cultural sector are heard. With this in mind, the Create the Vote MA Coalition is leading a public advocacy campaign to raise awareness and support for arts, culture, and the creative workforce.

We believe everyone in Massachusetts must have access to the benefits arts and culture deliver, and we work to ensure lawmakers and policy makers understand the impact arts and culture have on education, the economy, and our personal wellbeing.

Through a shared leadership model, the Create the Vote Coalition centers the voices of those who have been historically marginalized and left out of cultural policy development. In partnership with artists, creative workers, educators and arts supporters we are building an advocacy force from the grassroots that reflects the needs of the full creative and cultural community.

CTVMA seeks to support and develop a network of arts leaders that share our vision for arts and culture and who want to be in sustained advocacy for the sector. CTVMA works under these understandings:

  • Uniting in a shared, clear strategy for 2022 statewide elections
  • Centering historically marginalized and minoritized voices
  • Leaning into a unified grass-roots presence
  • Building advocacy and organizing capacity within the arts and cultural community

Let us know if you are interested in engaging in CTVMA's work here.

CTVMA is a nonpartisan candidate and voter education coalition. We do not endorse candidates, nor do we provide financial or in-kind support to any candidates.
