#ArtsMatter Highlights
The MASSCreative team is out in the community with Create the Vote coalition partners at local arts and cultural events talking about why arts matter in Massachusetts state elections.
Last week, we spread the word that Arts Matter to a responsive crowd at the Greater Boston Theater Expo. Working with Julie Hennrikus and Emma Putnam at StageSource we engaged arts supporters from across the Commonwealth who shared why arts matter to them, and why arts should matter in our state elections.
Here are some #ArtsMatter highlights from the evening:

There are more events coming up, which mean more opportunities to show the candidates that arts matter!
Partnering with Ty Furman, Managing Director at the BU Arts Initiative, we atteneded the BU Arts Crawl. This event will showcase arts and cultural groups on campus and around the city. We’ll be encouraging students and campus arts groups to sign the Arts Matter Pledge and take Arts Matter pictures and videos.
This Saturday, the MASSCreative crew will be out at the Harbor Arts Festival in East Boston with Matt Pollock, Executive Director and board member Ron Mallis of Harbor Arts. The 12-hour long festival will feature local music, art, and food. We’ll be there collecting signatures and asking festival-goers why arts matter to them. Look out for more Arts Matter pictures and videos on our Twitter and Facebook pages on Saturday!
On Monday, we’ll be celebrating all the great work that our friends and neighbors at StageSource are doing. Join us for the StageSource Party at the Oberon! We’ll be taking Arts Matter pictures and raising a glass to the theater community.
Events are a great way of building support for the Arts Matter campaign. Let us know how we can help.
