#ArtsandCultureforMASS is MASSCreative’s new campaign to spotlight the great work happening within Massachusetts' arts and culture community sector. Art, culture and creativity play a vital role in the health and vibrancy of our communities, and we want to remind everyone of that not just once a year but as much as we can. Through video storytelling, social media posts and accompanying data, we will spotlight the people and organizations making art and celebrating culture in Massachusetts.

On October 23rd, we will begin sharing video spotlights of our partners, including arts and cultural organizations, creative workers, and artists. These spotlights will be the basis of regular monthly events. Each month we will highlight a different member of our sector, their amazing art and cultural programming, the communities they serve and their powerful advocacy.  The needs and work of the art and cultural sector is as diverse as the people doing the work and we want to bring attention to all these voices.

To connect this campaign to our shared advocacy work, starting in January the spotlights will revolve around a different theme each month. These themes will focus on specific areas of impact of arts and culture such as, community wellbeing, creative youth development, economic vibrancy, etc.

Ways to partner

There are multiple ways partners and audiences can engage: Things you can do:

  • Sharing your own stories of impact using #ArtsandCultureforMASS (and its variations, #ArtsforMASS, #CultureforMASS, #ArtistsforMASS, #ArtsEdworksforMASS, #CreativityConnectsforMASS, #ArtandCultureforMASS, etc.)
  • Rebroadcast and repost our spotlights with your social media networks.
  • Create short video spotlights that MASSCreative can share.
  • Partner with MASSCreative to create a spotlight video of you/your org.*
  • Share suggestions of individuals and organizations whose work would make great spotlights.

Those with the capacity can create their own spotlights to share. For those who don’t have that capacity, MASSCreative will work to coordinate a process (steps) that meets the partner where they are.

This is just the start.

#ArtsandCultureforMASS will grow and evolve with the input and participation of partners.  Through this campaign we will keep the issues and stories of impact top of mind for decision makers and community leaders.
