Yesterday at the Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield, Gov. Deval Patrick announced that he would allocate $15 million to the state’s Cultural Facilities Fund! His announcement came on the heels of last week’s approval of an additional $1 million in state funding for the Commonwealth’s arts and cultural community, bringing the total state investment in the arts to $12 million. (If you missed it, check out this great editorial in the Boston Globe about the significance of the increased investment in the arts by state lawmakers.)

Neither of these achievements would have been possible without your tireless advocacy on behalf of the arts. Together, we have educated lawmakers on the importance of the arts to our communities, the economy, and public education. We have held dozens of in-district meetings; sent thousands of emails; and made hundreds of phone calls. All of that hard work paid off with critical increases in state investment in the arts!
