CTV's Arts and Culture Voter Week is a time to make our voices heard and our opinions known. With the Boston Mayoral Election just weeks away, we know that our unified voices work. It is crucial that candidates understand our vision for a well-resourced and equitable creative sector. We have provided resources to help you help others understand why you’re an Arts and Culture Voter and why that matters.

Dear Subscriber/Member/Supporter
Next Tuesday voters across Boston will go to the polls to decide the next Mayor and City Council for Boston.
Boston is emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic and reckoning with systemic racism laid bare by the pandemic. With almost $560 million in Federal recovery funds coming to Boston and more engaged residents pressing for change, the next Mayor will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead the reimagining of Boston.
We know that arts and culture are key to the future of Boston.
[Organization] is proud to be a member of the Create the Vote Boston coalition. Through Create the Vote Boston we have engaged all candidates running for Mayor on the value of the arts and cultural community and share our support for:
- Significantly increasing arts and cultural funding to ensure a creative sector in Boston where everyone has access to creative expression and cultural experiences across their lifespan.
- Increasing program support for arts education in Boston Public Schools and access to creative youth development programs across the city.
- Making Boston a more arts and culture-friendly city by increasing space for the creation and presentation of art, streamlining permitting processes, and removing barriers for holding cultural events.
If you are a voter in Boston we want to make sure you have information on how both candidates will lead Boston in support of arts and culture for all Bostonians regardless of neighborhood. Read summaries of Create the Vote roundtables with both candidates.
